Your Facial Surgery Options

Facial surgery includes procedures that address the structure, proportion and features of the face. At West Coast Plastic Surgery in Perth, we offer specialist-led facial procedures following comprehensive consultation. Each treatment is considered based on individual anatomy, suitability and clear discussion of options, risks and recovery.

Facelift

A facelift is a surgical procedure that addresses changes to facial tissues over time. During consultation, suitability, surgical approach, recovery considerations and potential risks are discussed in detail.

Brow Lift

A brow lift addresses the position of the eyebrows and upper forehead. Assessment during consultation focuses on anatomy, technique options and whether the procedure is appropriate for individual concerns.

Blepharoplasty

Blepharoplasty, also known as eyelid surgery, addresses excess skin or tissue of the upper or lower eyelids. A thorough consultation is used to assess suitability and discuss surgical considerations.

Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure that alters the structure of the nose. Consultation includes detailed assessment of nasal anatomy, discussion of functional and aesthetic considerations, and potential risks.

Fat Grafting

Fat grafting involves transferring a patient’s own fat to specific facial areas. Suitability is assessed during consultation, with discussion of technique, expected changes and procedural considerations.

Why Choose Us

Frequently Asked Questions

Am I suitable for facial surgery?

You may be a suitable candidate for facial surgery if you are in good overall health, have realistic expectations, and are seeking to address concerns such as facial ageing, sagging skin, wrinkles, or facial structure. Ideal candidates are non-smokers (or willing to quit), have maintained stable weight, and understand the limitations and benefits of facial surgery. Whilst there’s no upper age limit if you’re in good health, most facial rejuvenation procedures are performed on adults over 40, though some procedures like rhinoplasty may be appropriate for younger patients who have completed facial development. During your consultation, Mr Khan will assess your facial anatomy, skin quality, medical history, and aesthetic goals to determine which procedures are most appropriate for you. All cosmetic surgery patients require two consultations before proceeding.

West Coast Plastic Surgery offers comprehensive facial surgery procedures including:

Face Lift: Address sagging facial tissues, jowls, and deep creases to create a more defined jawline and smoother facial contour

Neck Lift: Improve neck contour by removing excess skin and tightening underlying muscles

Face and Neck Lift: Combined approach for comprehensive facial rejuvenation

Brow Lift: Elevate drooping eyebrows and smooth forehead lines

Blepharoplasty: Upper eyelid surgery to remove excess skin and fat; lower eyelid surgery to address bags and puffiness

Upper and Lower Blepharoplasty: Combined approach for comprehensive eye rejuvenation

Rhinoplasty: Reshape the nose to improve appearance and proportion

Additionally, we offer non-surgical facial treatments including anti-wrinkle treatments, dermal fillers (including Profhilo), Rejuran, chemical peels, CO2 laser, RF microneedling, PRP, and LED light therapy.

Yes, multiple facial procedures are often combined during a single surgical session to achieve comprehensive facial rejuvenation whilst reducing overall recovery time and costs. Common combinations include face and neck lift performed together, blepharoplasty combined with brow lift, or face lift with eyelid surgery. Many patients benefit from a combined approach that addresses multiple areas of concern simultaneously.

However, the decision to combine procedures depends on factors including your overall health, extent of surgery required, anaesthetic considerations, and safety protocols. During your consultation, Mr Khan will discuss which combination approach is safest and most effective for achieving your desired outcome. Non-surgical treatments can also be combined with surgical procedures or performed as standalone treatments, depending on your goals and concerns.

Recovery varies depending on the type and extent of your facial procedure. Generally, you can expect:

Initial Recovery (1-2 weeks): Swelling, bruising, and discomfort are normal. Most facial surgery patients can return to desk work within 10-14 days, though this varies by procedure. Pain medication will be prescribed as needed.

Wound Care: Our nursing team will see you regularly for wound checks as long as necessary. All post-surgery care and appointments are provided free of cost for 6 weeks. You’ll be seen by Mr Khan within 4-14 days depending on the surgery.

Activity Restrictions: Avoid strenuous activity, heavy lifting, and vigorous exercise for 4-6 weeks. Sleep with head elevated for the first 1-2 weeks to minimise swelling.

Results Timeline: Initial swelling subsides within 2-3 weeks, but final results develop over several months as tissues settle and heal. Most bruising resolves within 2-3 weeks.

Follow-Up Care: Regular appointments with Mr Khan during your recovery period, with follow-up extending from 3 months to 5 years depending on the treatment. We provide detailed post-surgery care instructions before your procedure, and our practice manager will call you the day after surgery.

As with any surgical procedure, facial surgery carries potential risks and complications. Common temporary effects include swelling, bruising, discomfort, temporary numbness, and tightness. Potential complications may include infection, bleeding, scarring, asymmetry, nerve injury (usually temporary, rarely permanent), hair loss near incision sites, wound healing issues, skin irregularities, and anaesthetic risks.

Specific to facial procedures: face and neck lifts result in scars around the ears and hairline that typically heal well and become less noticeable over time; eyelid surgery can result in temporary dry eyes or blurred vision; rhinoplasty carries risk of breathing difficulties or dissatisfaction with aesthetic outcome requiring revision; and brow lift may cause temporary or rarely permanent changes to sensation or brow position.

Mr Khan provides comprehensive consultation and discusses all possible outcomes, benefits, and potential complications and risks before surgery. Sometimes patients comment that they expected the surgery and recovery to be more painful than what they experienced. We prioritise your safety through careful patient selection, thorough assessment, surgical planning in accredited facilities, and comprehensive post-operative care. During your consultation, we’ll discuss risks specific to your chosen procedure and individual circumstances.
